Foremost among the hunting breeds was the greyhound. This
breed was valued first and foremost for its speed, but also for its ability to
attack and take down the game. The agility of the hare made hare hunting
with greyhounds a popular pastime, as well as a source for good meat. On our
pouch, the greyhound chases the hare through thistles.
Our Huntsman's Sporrans are crafted from fine, durable dark
brown top grain leather with expertly woven belt loops. The lids and mounts
are hand cast in bronze or sterling silver, and are mounted with Chicago
screws, and can be removed for cleaning. The lid is secured shut with
a thong that loops over an integral hook in the lid and that can be drawn
down tightly and tied.
Our Huntsman's Sporrans are 6 inches (150 mm) tall
and 8 inches (200 mm) wide, and have an expandable interior depth of
approximately 1.5 inches (38 mm). They can easily fit on any belt 3
inches wide or smaller.
