SCA Pelican Fibula

This fibula design was inspired by the many fantastic animal-shaped fibulas made by Iron Age Celts in central Europe. It fastens on by means of a hand-made bronze pin. At the bottom of the pin, the wire is coiled into springs to give the pin tension, and if you look closely, you can see that these coils become the pelican's feet.

The bronze pelican fibula comes set with a red carnelian, while the silver pelican fibula is set with a red almandine garnet.
