The Scythians were a proud race of nomadic horsemen. They were contemporaries of the Celts and roamed the steppes and grasslands of what is now modern-day Russia. Indeed, the Celts may have originally learned their horsemanship from the Scythians. This neckring is inspired by a famous gold neckring crafted for a Scythian chieftain or king. While the original was a much more complex design with elements reflecting many aspects of daily Scythian life as well as their mythology, ours is a simpler design, and focuses solely on the horse symbol, so central to Scythian culture. Our Scythian neckring features two hand forged rings of bronze or silver, framing four graceful horses in sterling silver. The sweeping bronze rings are finished with two simple, elegant silver dragon heads, leaving the neckring open in the back. Each piece is individually hand crafted and made to order. Please allow 4-6 weeks for construction of this piece. |
