This impressive belt was inspired by horse gear entombed with numerous Celtic charioteers and warriors. The ancient phalerae was an ornamental metal disc worn by their horses. You can see an example of an actual Celtic phalera here - http://www.unc.edu/celtic/catalogue/phalerae/sp.html. We have adapted this uniquely Celtic motif into a grand warrior's belt. Our Champion's belt features 8 bronze heads surrounding a bronze Triskele, while 2 more bronze Triskeles attaching side straps from which can be hung belt knives or pouches. The belt is adjustable and fastens in the back by means of a set of loops and an antler pin, as buckles were not widely used in the ancient Celtic world. The front disc is 6 inches (150mm) in diameter, while the belt is 3 inches (75 mm) wide. |
